If I had to choose a bet for each match, I would pick:
(-1.5) Dinamo, draws at Cibalia and Osijek' home matches, and (-0.25) away wins of Hajduk and Lokomotiva. But I don't so I won't.

Tennis bets Wednesday July 27th

Two points lost on football, as match between 2 Dinamos ended 2:0 (which is the only possible result that could bring us -2 points), while we made 0.6 points profit as 2 of 3 our tennis bets were won. Croatian clash in Toronto tonight, which means there's a possibility of another tennis bet tomorrow, and we're getting involved in female tennis for the first time as well (match is scheduled for 1 AM GMT)

We were few minutes away from a 100-percent midweek, but a goal that Frank Ohandza scored for Hajduk's win in 90th minute made Hajduk – (+1) Iasi bet a void. On Wednesday, Dinamo beat Vardar 3:2 (they were goal behind twice, they scored first 2 goals from the spot – and first penalty was more than doubtful), while the winning goal came after deflection. But, both of our bets on that match were won comfortably. Lokomotiva beat RoPS easily, they had a player more for almost an hour, but after 2:0 (in 29th minute) they slowed down and we had to wait till 83rd minute to win a bet.

CFL weekend brought us 2 winning and 2 losing bets. Slaven Belupo beat Cibalia 3:2, but the match with couple of spectacular goals just coudn't end up under 2.50 goals. Osijek won 2nd consecutive away match, while Lokomotiva and Rnk Split played the worst match of the season, which ended 0:0, so a small loss on CFL weekend.

Everything is well known about Ivo Karlovic's tennis. He's the tallest player on tour and he serves great. And he also loses his serves very rarely. He didn't lost serve vs Baker, Sock and Johnson, but he did in the final vs Gael Monfils twice. But, as he won the 1st set, +2 games Asian Handicap margin proved to be enough to win this bet.

Ivo plays at Toronto this week, as well as Borna Coric (who beat another Croatian player Ivan Dodig in the first round), while Mirjana Lucic Baroni passed the 1st round in WTA Montreal (her second round match is scheduled for tomorrow, so tune in aroun 11 AM GMT, no matter on the outcome of Karlovic's and Coric's matches). We're getting involved in today's tennis matches as well, so tune in again at 11 AM GMT.

Recap of the previos season and intro for this one

It took me some time, but there it is – lessons learned from the previous distaster season and intro for the new one, that already started.

2015/16 season stats:

What have I learned? I'm definitely sure that I was giving too much attention to the every single article I read. I was trying too have all the possible info, but in some matches as a result I couldn't see the forrest for the trees.

I was also spending too much time on writing my previews – which are not THAT important, obviously – as the correct picks!

We were also quite unlucky in more than a few matches, but I really don't think that anyone will benefit if I list the matches in which „we“ conceeded a goal in the injury time. It's just the part of the sports, and I'd be definitely loosing nerves once again – and that's not necessary, not at all.

So, what has changed this season? I definitely decided that I'll be publishing all the football picks for the weekend on Friday. Why? Well, as you would assume, I love my two little daughters very much, and the time I'm spending with them during the weekends is just precious. And since this season this is just a blog, so no strings attached, I'm just doing it to prove myself (and to my ex-subscribers, at least to those who care) that the last season was just something that's happening. I'll still be watching as all the matches I can, I'll be watching highlights of each match more than once and I'll definitely know which players are suspended and injured. But, no previews.

How come I decided to add picks for tennis, and later on, the other sports in which Croatian athletes compete? Well, I'm a die hard sports fan. And I was training tennis when I was a kid, and I definitely (theoretically) know everything I need to know about tennis. Tennis is not that hard to cover for the obvious reason – there's only two players to analyze (or 2 doubles). I'll be publishing picks only in the matches in which Croatian players are involved, and only in the ATP tournaments (ATP 250, 500 and 1000) and Grand Slams (no challangers or futures, as in some cases limits on the matches in these tournaments are even lower than on the CFL. Can you believe that's possible? I'll be mostly focused on the mens' singles, which means only the matches of Marin Cilic, Ivo Karlovic and Borna Coric, sometimes mens' doubles (as Ivan Dodig with Brazilian Marcelo Melo makes one of the best doubles of the world), sometimes

ladies' singles and never ladies' or mix doubles.

What about the other sports? We have Olympics in Rio really soon, Croatia has team in basketball, handball and waterpolo, and Sports Illustrated thinks that we'll get as much as 10 medals. I'm not yet sure how often will I get involved with the remaining sports, but if I do, those will be available at Pinnacle or SBO.

And one last thing – sometimes we'll have a pick(s) even on Saturday or Sunday (not CFL, only tennis and other sports). I have to go to work on at least 3 or 4 Saturdays or Sundays a month, and sometimes I have nothing to do, so I can analyze tennis or basketball.

So, that's about it. I'll be sending the recap of the successfull midweek and hopefully successfull weekend on Monday or Tuesday.

And we'll have a pick or two for today's Karlovic - Johnson match, I'll publish them on 12 PM GMT.

First weekend recap and more

First weekend of the CFL brought 3 results I got right – Slaven Belupo beat Inter Zapresic 2:0 (it was 0:0 in the first 80 minutes, 2nd goal was scored deep in the injury time). Dinamo managed to beat Lokomotiva 3:1, although Fiolic scored an opener for Lokomotiva. Rijeka comfortably beat RNK Split 3:0, they scored the early opener and were much better team the whole match. So, 3 of 3 for the opening of the season.

I don't know what do you think about tennis (and betting on tennis), but I can say I was pretty unlucky. Marin Cilic was 3:0 ahaed in the 5th set vs Jack Sock (when OVER bet was already won), and insted of easily winning the match, he managed to lost his 2nd consecutive „best-of-5“ match in which he was leading 2:0 (he lost vs Roger Federer in Wimbledon recently – and before that, he NEVER lost a match in which he was 2:0 ahead). In the 2nd match of the day, John Isner won first two sets the same way – he was serving first, he was 5:4 ahead, and then made the only break of serve of the set. I'm sure that Coric would won at least one tie-break, if he saved his serve, which would be quite enough for a winning OVER bet.

However, Croatia won 3:2 (after being 2:0 down – first Marin Cilic and Ivan Dodig beat Bryan brothers), then Cilic beat Isner 3:0, while Coric was much better than Sock and won 3:1. Croatia will play vs France at home in the semi-final of the Davis Cup, and I'm really looking forward to that match.

I forgot to mention that I'll be using the same bank as the last year (20 points), while my stats will be separated – for football, tennis and other sports together.

However, Dinamo and Vardar will play 2nd leg of UCL preliminary round on Wednesday, while Hajduk and Lokomotiva will play their matches on Thursday. I'll be publishing all the bets on Wednesday around 11 AM GMT.

New season starts today

Hello everybody!

Last season was the worse for me since I started betting. But, seasons like that happen to everyone, and since the new season of the CFL starts today, I think it's time to write few sentences. If we were a bit more lucky last season (I'm talking about the part of the season that Skeeve was in charge, if only two goals weren't scored in the deep in the injury time, last season would be almost break-even as two bets on draws would bring more than 7 points of profit). But, that's not important right now.

This season will be different, as there'll be no previews - I'll just let you know which bets I took. I'll still be taking them at 1 point flat stakes. But I decided to include bets on other sports involving Croatian teams and sportsmen (mostly tennis, sometimes basketball or some other sports as well - Olympics begins in 3 weeks).

On top of that - I'll be posting all the picks for the weekend on Fridays.
